Crawl for a Cause

The 2010 Pub Fest was True Blue raising over $10,000 for prostate cancer!

Blue was the  theme of this year's World's Greatest Pub Fest in support of its nominated charity for 2010 -  the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

The  Pub Fest included a “Jazz Up Your Jocks” competition as its costume competition and displayed the World's Largest Undies along the path of the Pub fest  to help raise awareness of Prostate Cancer.

One dollar from the sale of each Pub Fest participation card was donated to the Prostate Foundation of Australia for education.

In 2010 almost 20,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Tragically more than 3,300 men will die as a direct cause of prostate cancer.  According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, it  is the most common cancer diagnosed in Australia (excluding non-melanoma skin cancers) and the second greatest cause of cancer deaths in men.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) is the peak national body for prostate cancer in Australia. It is dedicated to:

• funding research into the cause, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of prostate cancer; and
• raising awareness about prostate cancer; and
• providing support, information and advocacy to men and their families impacted by prostate cancer.

PCFA receives limited funding from government, therefore relying on the generosity of individuals, the community and important partnerships with corporate Australia, to carry out its essential work.
